Bangladesh\`s manpower export sees robust growth

The overseas employments of Bangladesh witnessed a robust growth in the eight months of the current year following demands of manpower from different job-destination countries.

The country sent 7_83_925 workers abroad from January to August of 2022_ as against 2_75_791 in the matching period of the previous year_ reflecting more than 184% growth_ official data showed.

Besides_ the employments has increased over 23% in August alone than that of previous month. It showed 92_908 workers found jobs last month and 75_499 in July.

Manpower recruiters hoped that more workers would go abroad in coming months as Malaysia has started hiring workers from Bangladesh. The South East Asian country is expected to recruit more than 5_00_000 workers from Bangladesh in the next three years.

According to Bangladesh High Commission of Kuala Lumpur the remittance inflows from Malaysia will exceed US$ 3.0 billion with the recruitment of new workers.

On the Other hand_ the recruitment by Saudi Arabia_ the largest job destination country for Bangladeshi outbound workers is continuing a steady growth over the months.

The Arab nation hired 4_72_596 workers in the eight months_ of which 4_70_33 in August_ the data found.

The second highest 1_17_514 workers had been recruited by Oman_ while the United Arab Emirates (UAE) 76_903_ Singapore 41_278_ Qatar 14_977 and Kuwait 11_337 and Jordan 10_550 workers during the January-August period.
