Sri Lanka earns over $1b from tourism in first 10 months
Cash strapped Sri Lanka's tourism has brought more than 1 billion in the first 10 months of 2022_ according to the latest data from the country's central bank.
The data showed that the monthly tourism earnings stood at 75.6 million dollars in October.
Official reserves of Sri Lanka were 1.7 billion dollars by the end of October_ a slight decrease from the figure in September_ reports Xinhua citing the central bank.
More than 42_000 international travellers entered Sri Lanka in October_ bringing the total tally of tourist arrivals so far this year in the South Asian country to over 568_000_ statistics from tourism authority showed.
