Indian actor-turned politician Khushbu Sundar on Monday resigned from the primary membership of the Congress. Khushbu Sundar is likely to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today. She was with the Congress since 2014. In her resignation letter to Congress president Sonia Gandhi_ she wrote that she felt "pushed and suppressed" by people who had no connect with ground reality. "Few elements seated at higher level within the party_ people who have no connectivity with the ground reality or public recognition are dictating terms and people like me who wanted to work for the party sincerely_ are being pushed and suppressed_" Khushbu Sundar wrote. "After a long thorough thought process over a period of time_ have decided to end my association with the party_" she said. On Sunday_ as she took off to Delhi_ she refused to comment. To a specific question if she's still in the Congress_ Ms Sundar said_ "I don't wish to say anything". With the Congress out of power since 2014_ her political career graph was flagging. According to the sources_ Khushbu Sundar will likely to join the BJP on Monday itself. It could turn out to be big catch for the ruling party in Tamil Nadu ahead of the 2021 Assembly elections.
