Russian-Chinese annual trade reaches $200 billion

Bilateral trade between Russia and China has practically reached $200 billion, Russian Ambassador to China Igor Morgulov said.
"According to the results of ten months of this year, bilateral trade has reached $196.5 billion. I think that the goal of $200 billion set by our countries' leaders is already achieved," he said at the 14th plenary meeting of the Russian-Chinese Committee on Friendship, Peace and Development.
According to the Ambassador, the goal of $200 billion was initially set for 2024.
The two countries continue the work on large-scale projects in the energy sector, he said, adding that they also continue efforts to develop high technology, innovation and investment cooperation.
The Russian-Chinese Committee on Friendship, Peace and Development, an interstate non-government organization, was set up by the two countries' leaders in 1997. It is holding its 14th plenary meeting in Beijing on November 30.
