Malaysia bans entry of Israeli ships over Gaza onslaught

Malaysian government has imposed an immediate ban on Israeli shipping vessels following the Israeli brutality against the Palestinians in Gaza.

In an official statement Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim stated on Wednesday that the decision is in response to Israel’s brutal war in Gaza.

The ban will primarily affect ZIM Integrated Shipping Services, an Israeli international cargo shipping company with a strong hold across the globe.

The statement further said that Israel is committing “massacre and brutality” against Palestinian civilians.

In addition, it has been decided to revoke the permit for Israel-flagged ships to dock in Malaysian ports.

Malaysia will also impose “a ban on any ship en route to Israel from loading cargo at Malaysian ports.”

The Office of the Prime Minister has informed that all the restrictions will be effective immediately.

At the same time, Yemen’s Houthis have said that they will not halt attacks on ships linked to Israel in the Red Sea, despite the United States announcing a new maritime protection alliance to confront them.

“Even if America succeeds in mobilising the entire world, our military operations will not stop … no matter the sacrifices it costs us,” Mohammed al-Bukhaiti, a senior Houthi official, said in a post on X on Tuesday.

At least 19,667 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks since October 7.
